WFA 48-Hour Film Challenge
WINTER FILM AWARDS is pleased to challenge the local community to create a short film from start to finish in just a single weekend.
The WFA 48- Film Challenge gets under way on FRIDAY NOVEMBER 30 at 8pm. A representative from each team must come to our offices at 12 DesBrosses Street, New York NY 10013 between 8pm and midnight. The first 50 teams to arrive with be accepted into the Challenge. Teams will be provided with a FILM GENRE, TAG-LINE and a fun PROP that must be used in a 7-minute film to be completed by SUNDAY DECEMBER 2 at 8pm. Entries may be shot either via traditional filmmaking equipment or teams can do the whole thing on smartphones. There is no fee to participate in the challenge.
On SATURDAY DECEMBER 8, the best 20 entries as judged by the WFA Jury will be screened at the CHELSEA MANOR (138 West 25th Street, New York NY 10001) from 3-6pm, followed by an Award Ceremony, awesome prizes and networking party until 8pm. Entry is $10, open to all ages and includes drink specials and discounts all night. Over $10k in prizes from our sponsors JetBlue, FootageFirm and VideoBlocks will be awarded for BEST PICTURE and FAN FAVORITE.
