The Third Annual Winter Film Awards Independent Film Festival kicks off Wednesday, February 26 2014. The weekend festival consists of three days of film screenings, discussion panels and industry networking after-parties culminating in an awards show to be held on March 1.

The WFA Festival focuses on the diversity of independent film, and offers an exciting mixture of film genres, viewpoints and subjects in order to give attendees the opportunity to see films they might never think to seek out! This year’s selection includes 61 films from 24 countries, a mixture of narrative features, horror, animation, music videos, comedies, documentaries and shorts covering the full range of the world of independent film.

Kickoff Party and Filmmakers Reception will be held Wednesday, February 26 at 7pm at 49 Grove.

Screenings will be held in the heart of the theater district at Theater 777, located at 777 8th Avenue all day Thursday February 27 – Saturday March 1.

The Awards Ceremony and After-Party Bash on March 1 will be held at The Empire Room at 230 Fifth, located at Fifth Avenue and 27th Street.

Our Mission is to recognize excellence in cinema and to promote learning and artistic expression for people at all stages of their artistic careers with a focus on nurturing emerging filmmakers and helping them gain recognition and contacts to break into this difficult industry. We pride ourselves on our diverse collection of Festival selections, allowing our audience to enjoy films they normally wouldn’t think to seek out.
