Winter Film Awards is delighted to announce our first annual Winter Laughs Comedy Competition featuring the best Stand-Up comics in all of human history!

Are you funny? Prove it. Stop talking to yourself and gather up whatever it takes to beat all the other funny people in NYC.

Submit your best 3-5 minute laugh reel to Winter Film Awards. Our team of judges will choose the top 20 entries for a head-to-head comedy showdown at the Broadway Comedy Club over three nights.

Submissions open … September 1 – December 1
Announcement of Semi-finalists … December 18
Semi-finals Group 1 … January 19 (5 minute set)
Semi-finals Group 2 … January 20 (5 minute set)
Finals … January 21 (10 minute set)


3 Semi-finalists from each group go on to the Finals! Material in the 5 minute set shouldn’t be repeated in the 15 minute set. All finalists will receive 2 guest tickets to the show and a video of their performance.

Winner take all. Prizes include $200 in hard cash and a speaking role in an upcoming film by director Larry Rosen.* Guests, hosts, and judges will all be rad. Winner will also receive an awesome Winter Film Awards Crystal Icicle statue and be invited to perform at the dazzling WFA 2016 Indie Film Festival Awards Ceremony on February 27 2016 at Club 230Fifth.

* Conditions apply: The performer must be available and able to transport themselves to the filming location, which will be in either NY or NJ.

Broadway Comedy ClubBroadway Comedy Club offers all the fun of comedy in Times Square without the awkward run-ins with the law (although we’re not responsible for whatever trouble you get into afterwards). The bi-level space is one of the most renowned comedy venues in the city, and has hosted performers from HBO and Comedy Central plus big-name stars like David Spade and Jim Gaffigan. In addition to its regular stand-up shows, Broadway Comedy Club offers a full food menu, improv classes, and the New York Comedy School. —
