WFA 2016
Documentaries provide a much-needed insight into other peoples’ lives. Winter Film Awards is proud to bring you twelve incredible films

In Bounce: How the Ball Taught the World to Play, explore the little -known origins of our favorite sports.  Colors of Life tells the story of the Shimuras who devote their daily lives in a lifelong pursuit to understanding and preserving the national treasure that is Japanese textiles.  Conrad & the Steamplant brings us the charming Conrad Milster, Pratt Institute’s chief engineer.  See on-the-ground coverage of the revolution of dignity in Ukraine in I Stay.  Can we learn from our mistakes in Chernobyl via the story of Ivan Ivan?

My Stolen Revolution shows the powerful and compelling stories about what happens when a rabid religious order gains control of a nation.  Reinventing the Reel gives an overview of the Hollywood treatment of LGBT portrayals in film.  Ron Taylor: Dr. Baseball is a fascinating look at a Major League pitcher who became a doctor, as told by his two sons.  In The House is Innocent, meet the ultra-charming Tom and Barbara, the proud new owners of a serial killer’s house. Learn the true story of The Real Miyagi – the man behind Hollywood’s biggest action heroes.  If Walls could speak, what would they say about their neighbors?  See the story of Arab and Israeli women, and how they live together and come together to a hair salon, with no thought of their religion or ethnic origin in Women in Sink.
